I love this short film which gives you a look at Keziah Jones before he was famous.
In the directors own words:
"Using our own rare footage, we cut this to promote Keziah to record companies - from busking to first performance to recording his first record - a rare insight into the early days of an artist's career... "

Start Them Young
Meet Vesey named after Denmark Vesey.
His mother tells us "He's a rising second grader who was on the winning MathBowl team for his first grade. And, he thinks he can step and crump with the best of them."
Here are pictures of Vesey working his Bnn Tee and doesn't he do it well.

Dazed & Confused / ANOTHER magazine
My Dad found these years ago and thought I would like them. I was doing art A level and decided to cut them up for collarge (I regret that now).
DAZED & CONFUSED Issue 7 1994 £1.95
Jefferson Hack and Rankin were the editors and Photography by Rankin.
Interviews with Paris rapper Mc Solaar, Isabella Blow on new designers Philip Tracey and Alexander McQueen. Dr Martins and slip dresses and Sony MD was going to be the next big thing.
In 1994 teenagers will still be teenagers
Mc Solaar
Along with Dazed & Confused came a free pilot edition of Another magazine. In 1993 it was just called Another.
Again the front cover was shot by Rankin playing on the iconic playboy 1982 issue. The editor was Katie Grand who went on to The Face and eventually Pop magazine.
Clothes from Hyper Hyper on High Street Ken I wonder how many of you remember.

Ps. for those BLACK NERDS that need a bit of history:
STAR was introduced into the Nigerian market on 2 June 1949 as the first indigenous beer brand; the beer market having been dominated exclusively by imported brands. Shortly after its entry into the market, STAR quickly brushed aside the problems usually associated with a new brand in a market already used to imported beer and started a path of tremendous growth. For instance in 1962, about 2, 191,376 cartons of STAR were sold and by 1975 the figure has risen to 11,266,000 cartons. As at 2003, the sales figures were in the region of over 40 million cartons in that year alone.

Bake Me A Cake
Last week Tuesday Mr BlackNerd celebrated his Birthday, so the girls baked him a cake and decorated it to.
The decoration was inspired by his love for music and our love for Tatty Devine. The cake is a Black Cake (Caribbean fruit cake soaked with Rum)
