A Parrot Party
We have always had a thing for parrot's as St Vincent and the Grenadines national bird is the Amazona Guildingii. Plague through our childhood with lots of souvenirs depicting the parrot it is now firmly etched into our ascetics.
So we were very to please to see 'A Parrot party' by Lladro who have created these homeware pieces.

kaleidoscope
A tube-shaped optical instrument that is rotated to produce a succession of symmetrical designs by means of mirrors reflecting the constantly changing patterns made by bits of coloured glass at one end of the tube.

M’Afrique by Moroso
Found this exhibition via Yatzer blog. Devised by Patrizia Moroso for his Milan showroom and designed by Stephen Burks this installation puts together art and design inspired by Africa.
“multifaceted, modern Africa deserves to be known and sustained for the originality of the creative languages with which it enriches global culture. The African continent is extraordinarily rich in creativity, materials and ideas that are sources of inspiration and nourishment for us. When applied to design, they engender products which exude tradition and modernity, innovation and history, form and beauty. I think there is so much of Africa and in this event my intent was to showcase the creativity of a few of the great artists and personalities of contemporary African culture. Going beyond the stereotypes that present Africa as a tragic or, at best, exotic experience, we want to highlight some aspects of contemporary African culture, which is in effect comparable to global culture. Looking at Africa through the eyes of contemporary art, photography, architecture and design is perhaps the most appropriate way of approaching this vast, powerful continent, so creatively rich and diverse that today it is still one of western modernity’s greatest sources of inspiration”. A Day at the Farm
On Sunday we bump into some friends around the madness that was brick Lane, with the music festival that was going on, but that was to raucous for us black Nerds. So they suggested we all go down to the farm (Spitalfields city farm) where they had a festival going on with Land of the Giant vegetables and lots of hippy types.
We were amazed to see in this city oasis entries for best vegetable, cakes, arts and crafts.
The allotments
Really like this intricate Hand embroidery and the colours in this geometric one.
We then ventured into the farm where we saw Itchy the pig, rabbits, goat, sheep, Rosie and Mo the guinea pigs, rats, ducks a Tilly the pony and a Bayleaf the Donkey.
